About the Role
Johns Hopkins Aramco Healthcare seeks a Locum Ophthalmologist to provide full ophthalmological care to employees and dependents. The role includes evaluating, diagnosing, and treating eye conditions, performing surgeries, and using YAG and Argon lasers.

Responsibilities
- Perform complete eye examination, assessment, determine and/or implement treatment plan
- Follow patient through their illness at appropriately spaced intervals
- Complete patient and other medical records promptly and accurately
- Maintain strict confidentiality of patient's medical records
- Perform elective and emergency surgeries as expected within the scope of Ophthalmologist
- Cover on calls as per the schedules
- Perform both YAG and Argon Laser therapy
- Refer patients to the appropriate services including Ophthalmology Sub specialists
- Participate in case discussions with the Sub specialists
Requirements
- Graduation from an approved medical school
- Board Certification by Saudi, American Board, Canadian Royal College of Physicians, or equivalent
- Ophthalmology board certification from a recognized training program by SCFHS & JHAH HR
- Three years of practice in the field of Ophthalmology after the board
- Must hold a valid SCFHS license
- Excellent command of the English language, both verbal and written

Basic Function
- Provides the full range of ophthalmological care to all Saudi Aramco employees and their eligible dependents. Participates in the planning and implementation of integrated preventative curative medical care programs.
Principal Duties
- Performs complete eye examination, assessment, determines and/or implements the treatment plan and discusses with the patient and/or his/her family.
- Follows patient through their illness at appropriately spaced intervals.
- Completes patient and other medical records promptly and accurately, indicating diagnosis, treatment and action.
- Maintains strict confidentiality of patient's medical records.
- Performs elective and emergency surgeries as expected within the scope of Ophthalmologist.
- Cover on calls as per the schedules.
- Performs both YAG and Argon Laser therapy.
- Refers patients to the appropriate services including Ophthalmology Sub specialists.
- Participates in case discussions with the Sub specialists.
Education
- Graduation from an approved medical school.
- Board Certification by Saudi, American Board, Canadian Royal College of Physicians, or equivalent.
- Ophthalmology board certification from a recognized training program by SCFHS & JHAH HR.
Experience
- Three years of practice in the field of Ophthalmology after the board, with proof of expertise.
- Must hold a valid SCFHS license
Certifications/Other requirements as applicable
- Excellent command of the English language, both verbal and written.
- Ability to adjust to group practice in a medical environment.
