About the Role
JC Orient Shipping & Logistics seeks an Operations Supervisor to manage end-to-end ocean freight shipments in Dubai. The role involves coordinating FCL/LCL imports and exports, booking space with carriers, preparing documentation, and liaising with customs and transport providers.

Responsibilities
- Manage end to end ocean freight shipments (FCL and LCL), import and export, from enquiry to delivery and file closure
- Handle multiple live shipments and client accounts concurrently, tracking cut offs, sailing schedules, and documentation deadlines
- Book space with carriers, co loaders, and NVOCCs; negotiate and confirm rates; manage rollovers or schedule changes
- Prepare and verify shipping documentation – Bills of Lading, manifests, certificates of origin, and shipping instructions
- Coordinate customs clearance and inland transport, liaising with clearing agents, transporters, and port/terminal systems
- Serve as primary operational point of contact for assigned clients, providing status updates and resolving issues
- Monitor and update internal tracking sheets and shipment status reports accurately and in real time
- Coordinate with commercial team on quotations and with finance on invoicing, job costing, and supplier billing
- Anticipate and resolve operational exceptions – missed cut offs, documentation discrepancies, demurrage/detention risks
Requirements
- 4 5 years of hands on freight forwarding experience in the UAE, focused on ocean freight
- Strong working knowledge of end to end sea freight process, FCL/LCL operations, and Bill of Lading types
- Familiarity with UAE customs procedures and Jebel Ali/DP World terminal processes
- Proficiency with MS Office (especially Excel) and freight/operations software
- Excellent communication and coordination skills in English
- Bachelor's degree or relevant logistics qualification preferred

- Serve as the primary operational point of contact for assigned clients, providing timely status updates and resolving issues.
- Monitor and update internal tracking sheets and shipment status reports accurately and in real time.
- Coordinate with the commercial team on quotations and with finance on invoicing, job costing, and supplier billing.

Desired candidate profile
- 4–5 years of hands on freight forwarding experience in the UAE, with a clear focus on the ocean freight division.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple shipments and clients simultaneously under deadline pressure.
- Strong working knowledge of the end to end sea freight process, FCL/LCL operations, and Bill of Lading types and release mechanisms.
- Familiarity with UAE customs procedures and Jebel Ali / DP World terminal and portal processes.
- Proficiency with MS Office (especially Excel) and freight/operations software.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills in English; ability to keep clients and partners informed clearly and promptly.
- Bachelor's degree or relevant logistics qualification preferred.
