Role Overview

The Operations Manager leads team leaders, allocates operational resources, and ensures planned performance and service standards are achieved within budget.

The role supports operations delivered from India for shareholder, pensions, investment, employee benefits, KYC, customer experience, reconciliations, and innovation services.

Core Duties

  • Deliver high-quality services and address risk issues to minimize operational losses.
  • Train, deploy, counsel, motivate, coach, and develop direct reports.
  • Monitor teams to ensure regulations and security measures are maintained.
  • Identify and implement process improvements that support business efficiency.
  • Plan and implement operational changes with minimal service disruption.

Risk and Compliance

  • Use the CAPA process to investigate adverse trends and reduce recurrence risk.
  • Ensure the operation supports the quality policy and meets best-practice, reporting, regulatory, and statutory requirements.
  • Perform duties in accordance with Equiniti's regulators, including the FCA's Principles for Business.

Projects and Performance

  • Plan, delegate, and manage projects to meet time, budget, and specification requirements.
  • Develop relationships across Equiniti that support business KPI delivery.
  • Assess performance, capabilities, and potential and provide constructive feedback on development needs.
  • Monitor financial resources for business units or projects using management techniques.

Competencies and Experience

  • Experience managing AML, KYC, or transaction-monitoring teams.
  • Knowledge and experience of financial markets.
  • Experience using project management techniques and planning for uncertainty.
  • Experience communicating and implementing change while minimizing disruption to services.
  • Experience ensuring internal or external consultant work meets business requirements.
  • ICSA or IAQ qualification including the Compliance module, achieved within one year of appointment.

Business Function

EQ India Operations works with EQ Group functions in the UK and US to provide operational support across multiple financial and customer service functions.

The service is delivered from Equiniti offices in Chennai and Bengaluru.
