The Operations Director / COO runs day-to-day delivery across production, warehouse, and crew operations.
The role is accountable for the workflow between contract signature and final invoice and ensures events ship on time, on budget, and safely.
Reporting structure
The role reports to the CEO and belongs to the Operations department.
Direct reports include all HODs for Audio, Lighting, Video/LED, and Rigging, plus the Warehouse Manager, Senior Project Managers, and CAD/Design Specialist.
Location and work setting
- The role is based in Al Khatim, Abu Dhabi, with regular site visits.
- Work location is in person.
Key responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end workflow from sales handoff through post-event debrief.
- Line-manage all HODs and the Warehouse Manager.
- Resolve cross-departmental conflicts, especially at the sales and warehouse interface.
- Approve sub-rentals and freelance bookings above defined thresholds.
- Own health and safety, including crew certification, gear compliance, and risk assessments.
- Approve overtime above three hours per shift and review weekly overtime reports.
- Run weekly production meetings and review pipeline capacity four to eight weeks ahead.
- Own Current RMS, Rentman, or Flex as the rental-management system of record.
- Drive KPIs for delivery, equipment damage, freelance spend, and crew utilisation.
- Approve the weekly roster published by the Logistics Coordinator.
Qualifications and experience
- 8+ years in AVL or live-events operations, including 3+ years in a management role.
- Deep knowledge of at least one technical discipline in audio, lighting, or video, with broad literacy in others.
- Proven experience running multiple concurrent events with budgets up to seven figures.
- Hands-on experience with a major rental management platform.
- Familiarity with UAE Labour Law and MOHRE compliance.
- The role requires calm decision-making when events encounter problems.
Pay
- AED 10,000-12,000 per month.
Performance indicators
- On-time delivery rate and gross margin per job.
- Equipment damage or loss rate and freelance spend versus budget.
- Sub-rental spend as a percentage of revenue.
- Overtime cost as a percentage of base salary, with a target below 10%.
- Zero notifiable safety incidents.
