On Demand Courier (Bike Rider Quick Commerce)

Core Job Responsibilities Policies, Processes & Procedures

  • Adhere strictly to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and safety requirements of EMX.
  • Support operational efficiency by minimizing delays and exceptions.
  • An understanding of how to handle sensitive data of a confidential nature.

Pickup & Delivery Operations

  • Execute timely pickup and delivery of shipments in line with assigned territory and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Follow optimized routes as assigned through company applications and dispatch instructions.
  • Perform accurate scanning, delivery status updates and completion of delivery tasks using company systems and mobile applications.
  • Capture and reconcile Proof of Delivery (POD), Cash on Delivery (COD) and Credit Card on Delivery (CCOD) transactions as per agreed SOP guidelines.
  • Handle all packages with care to prevent loss, damage, or delay.
  • Achieve individual delivery targets and qualify for performance based incentives where applicable.
  • Maintain assigned vehicle, equipment and delivery tools in safe and operational condition and report any defects or maintenance requirements promptly.
  • Escalate any on road or on site challenges, such as access issues, customer unavailability or safety concerns, to support service continuity, customer satisfaction and continuous improvement of operational performance.

Customer Communication

  • Provide professional and courteous customer interaction during pickups and deliveries.
  • Address basic customer service queries and escalate issues to supervisor when required.
  • Communicate proactively with Dispatch regarding delays, exceptions or delivery challenges.
  • Ensure customer confirmations are properly recorded and submitted as per standard procedures.
  • Handle exceptions in field (e.g., customer not available, COD reconciliation issues) within SOP guidelines and escalate unresolved cases to the supervisor.

Other Tasks

  • Perform any other responsibilities relating to this job request or work task as allocated by the Line Manager.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a courier, delivery, or similar role is preferred.
  • Valid UAE bike driving license with a minimum of 1 year of driving experience.
  • Good knowledge of local routes and familiarity with navigation and delivery applications.
  • Basic smartphone proficiency for handling delivery apps and GPS tools.
  • Physically fit and capable of riding for extended periods.
  • Strong communication and time management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and handle multiple deliveries efficiently.
  • Prior experience in quick commerce or short delivery time models (e.g., 15 minute delivery) is an advantage.
