Role Overview
Lead overall ocean freight growth initiatives for DHL Global Forwarding in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Guide country pricing strategy, value propositions, solution design, and commercial execution to support growth.
Coordinate growth direction and commercial activities with Marketing and Sales across all relevant channels.
Growth and Commercial Strategy
- Drive volume growth across ocean freight products in coordination with country management, product heads, and Regional Trade Management.
- Set focus trade lanes and countries according to the trade-lane growth plan.
- Drive senior commercial product engagement and act as the country focal point for product development.
Pricing and Tender Management
- Lead ocean freight pricing activities and ensure pricing efficiency and competitiveness.
- Oversee large tenders handled through OCC specialists as part of the global RFQ process.
- Drive tender-management automation, RFQ analytics, risk analysis, country-led RFQs, and straight-through processing.
Business and Customer Segments
- Own country growth and RDM structures where applicable.
- Develop and execute local trade-lane plans across ocean freight products according to trade-management priorities.
- Define target customers with local product heads, Trade Management, and Marketing and Sales.
- Drive straight-through processing within the BC segment with Marketing and Sales.
Country Coordination
- Serve as country focal point for Marketing and Sales and ensure process alignment within the country.
- Align Marketing and Sales activities across the country as relevant to ocean freight products.
- Manage teams, lead larger internal and external meetings, coach people, and work across cultures.
Required Skills and Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the ocean freight forwarding industry.
- Experience working in a multinational environment and a large corporation.
- Seasoned leader with a successful track record and good customer contacts.
- Commercial mindset, result orientation, strategic execution, customer focus, and negotiation ability.
- Ability to manage teams, lead larger meetings, network effectively, and collaborate across cultures.
