Role overview
The role is for a Telecom Technician supporting Oil and Gas projects in onshore and offshore environments.
The position requires hands-on installation, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance experience.
Key responsibilities
- Install, test, troubleshoot, and maintain telecom and ELV systems.
- Work with structured cabling, fiber optic communication, TETRA, VHF/UHF radios, CCTV, and access control systems.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance according to Oil and Gas standards.
- Support commissioning teams during handover and SAT/FAT procedures.
- Follow HSE standards during all site activities.
- Prepare technical reports, update work logs, and coordinate with supervisors and engineers.
- Support shutdowns, offshore rotations, and emergency call-outs.
Qualifications and experience
- Diploma in Engineering in Electronics, Electrical, or Telecommunications.
- At least 5 to 7 years of Oil and Gas telecom maintenance and installation experience.
- Mandatory offshore experience with valid offshore certificates such as BOSIET or HUET.
- Strong knowledge of network cabling standards and fiber optic systems.
- Hands-on experience with TETRA, VHF, and UHF radio communication systems.
