Offshore Methods Engineer

Position

Job Location

• The job location is Abu Dhabi, UAE.
• The role includes work offshore, in yards, and at other construction locations as required by the project.

Work Hours

• The stated work schedule is 9 hours per day over 5 days.

Qualifications

• A degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering is required.
• A minimum of 5–10 years of experience in offshore installation engineering is required.
• Offshore or yard operational follow-up experience is required.
• Knowledge of DNV and API codes is required.

Tasks

• Report to the Offshore Method Lead.
• Prepare the general engineering schedule for review by the Project team.
• Identify technical problems and make decisions within contractual limitations.
• Define engineering tasks and subtasks, or supervise their preparation.
• Define materials and services to be purchased within the allocated engineering budget.
• Approve technical designs needed for product purchase and construction.
• Participate in technical design meetings, audits, and Client examinations.
• Notify responsible managers and the Project Manager of problems affecting other engineering areas.
• Perform engineering verifications and calculations for the methodology.
• Supervise and verify methodology documentation.
• Prepare manuals summarizing methodology activities and showstoppers.
• Provide vessel personnel with reports, manuals, drawings, and other useful data.

Offshore Follow-Up

• Follow up activities offshore and at construction locations as required by the project.
• Support project or bid activities at different levels of depth.
• Participate as a field engineer during yard and offshore vessel operation campaigns.
• Verify equipment and materials.
