Role Overview

The Nutritionist will join a multidisciplinary clinical team supporting patients through an online weight-management service.

The role provides practical, evidence-based nutrition and lifestyle support alongside medical treatment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide nutrition and lifestyle consultations and develop personalised nutritional recommendations.
  • Support patients throughout weight management, including those using weight-loss medication.
  • Monitor progress and help patients develop sustainable dietary and lifestyle habits.
  • Identify concerns and escalate appropriately to the clinical team.
  • Maintain patient records and collaborate with doctors, pharmacists, prescribers, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Contribute to patient education, clinical pathways, and continuous service improvement.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree-level qualification in Nutrition, Nutritional Science, or a closely related subject.
  • Strong knowledge of evidence-based nutrition and healthy weight management.
  • Experience providing nutritional advice directly to patients or clients.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to provide practical, supportive advice.
  • Understanding of professional boundaries and when patients should be referred or escalated.
  • Strong organisational and record-keeping skills.
  • Patient-centred approach and ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Desirable Experience and Knowledge

  • AfN registration as an ANutr or RNutr is advantageous.
  • Experience in weight management, obesity, or metabolic health is advantageous.
  • Experience supporting patients taking GLP-1 or other weight-management medications is advantageous.
  • Experience in online clinics, digital health, or telemedicine is advantageous.
  • Experience working alongside doctors, pharmacists, dietitians, or independent prescribers is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of NICE guidance, disordered eating, clinical audits, patient education, or quality improvement is advantageous.
  • Interest in developing digital approaches to nutritional and weight-management care is advantageous.
