The Position
Lead the operational strategy and execution of the food program across Australia and New Zealand
Oversee culinary, café, micro-kitchen and catering operations across multiple cities and sites
Develop and manage the business plan in partnership with APAC operational leadership
Build a culture focused on hospitality, culinary excellence, efficiency and sustainability
Partner with senior client stakeholders and Compass country teams to deliver changing business priorities
Lead new business openings, mobilisations, concept launches and operational revitalisation projects
Manage financial performance, budgets, reporting and commercial outcomes across the portfolio
Ensure operational teams deliver within budget while maintaining strict program standards
Coach and develop operational leaders, including Unit Managers and subject matter experts
Build succession plans and strong talent pipelines across Australia and New Zealand
Align operations with marketing, procurement, people operations, finance, workplace safety and food safety functions
Ensure compliance with company guidelines, employment standards, Modern Awards and applicable enterprise agreements
Champion food safety, allergen management and workplace health and safety across all sites
Deliver timely reporting to APAC leadership, client representatives and Compass sector leaders
The Person
You are an experienced senior operational leader with a strong background in premium hospitality and complex, multi-site environments. You combine commercial discipline with a genuine passion for food, service and developing people.
You will bring:
Significant multi-site operational leadership experience within premium corporate dining, multi-unit restaurants or hotels
Experience managing operations across multiple cities, ideally throughout Australia and New Zealand
Strong client ownership and senior stakeholder management capability
Demonstrated experience leading senior Operations Managers, General Managers or Unit Managers
Exceptional commercial, financial and business planning skills
A proven record of improving profitability, sustainability and creativity across dining operations
Strong strategic thinking and the ability to turn complex operational challenges into practical solutions
Experience leading mobilisations, new business openings and operational improvement initiatives
Highly developed coaching, mentoring and talent development capability
Confidence presenting to team members, senior leaders and client partners
Strong communication, influencing and decision-making skills
The ability to remain positive, composed and solutions-focused under pressure
A genuine passion for exceptional food and hospitality
Flexibility to travel regularly across Australia and New Zealand
Qualifications and Experience
- A minimum of 8 to 10 years’ relevant industry experience
- At least 3 to 5 years’ experience leading senior operational managers
- Tertiary qualifications in hospitality, hotel or restaurant management, business management, or a related discipline are preferred
- Working knowledge of Google Workspace and Microsoft Office
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills
