Key Responsibilities
- Own firewall and WAF rule design, review, implementation, optimization, and recertification.
- Manage certificates, ciphers, HSTS, and secure cryptographic standards for internet-facing services.
- Build and maintain site-to-site VPNs, SD-WAN, and secure remote access across hybrid networks.
- Integrate network security controls with SIEM, SOAR, and network telemetry and create runbooks.
- Implement Azure and AWS network security architectures and cloud firewall controls.
- Deploy and govern cloud WAFs and application gateways.
- Embed Infrastructure as Code guardrails, tagging, security blueprints, and DevSecOps workflows.
Required Technical Skills
- Expert hands-on experience with F5 BIG-IP ASM or Advanced WAF, including policy tuning, attack signatures, bot and DDoS mitigation, and basic iRules.
- Expert hands-on experience with Palo Alto Networks security policies, App-ID, URL filtering, Threat Prevention, WildFire, and Panorama.
- Expert hands-on experience with Fortinet FortiGate, FortiManager, and FortiAnalyzer.
- Hands-on experience with Citrix ADC or NetScaler, including Layer 7 load balancing, SSL/TLS, content switching, and AppFW.
- Strong Azure and AWS networking and security knowledge, including VNet or VPC, routing, firewalls, WAF, PrivateLink, and Transit Gateway or Virtual WAN.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, NAT, DNS, TLS, HTTP/S, and IPsec or SSL VPN.
- Experience designing for high availability, performance, and security compliance.
Certifications
- F5 301a/b and 302 certifications, or equivalent practical mastery, are required.
- Palo Alto PCNSE certification is listed as required.
- Fortinet NSE 4–7 certification is listed; NSE 7 is highly desirable.
