Role Overview
Etqan Global Academy is seeking an experienced and knowledgeable MYP Coordinator.
The coordinator will lead implementation and ongoing development of the IB Middle Years Programme.
The role focuses on programme integrity, teacher excellence, and high standards of student learning.
The Role
- Lead planning, implementation, and review of the IB Middle Years Programme in line with IB standards and practices.
- Manage IB authorisation, evaluation, and self-study processes and liaise with the IB organisation.
- Support, coach, and develop MYP teachers in programme delivery, unit design, and assessment.
- Oversee the Personal Project, service as action, and ATL skill development across the MYP.
- Lead assessment moderation and standardisation across all subject groups.
- Coordinate eAssessment preparation and external moderation submissions.
- Lead MYP-focused staff professional development and engagement with Nord Anglia University.
- Communicate MYP expectations, progress, and outcomes to parents and the school community.
Successful Candidate
- A recognised teaching qualification and classroom teaching experience in an IB MYP school are required.
- IB MYP workshop training at Category 1 or 2 level is required.
- The candidate must have in-depth knowledge of MYP curriculum, assessment criteria, eAssessment, and the Personal Project.
- Understanding of IB programme standards, practices, and authorisation requirements is required.
- IB coordinator or curriculum leadership experience is desirable.
- Excellent organisational, communication, and coaching skills are required.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare is required.
- International school experience, ideally in the Middle East, is desirable.
