About the Role
Diverse Performing Arts Center seeks a Musical Director and Singing Teacher to deliver singing tuition and direct musical theatre productions for students aged 4-18. Requires 2+ years teaching experience, piano skills, and musical direction experience.

Responsibilities
- Teach singing to students of all ages and abilities, ensuring development of strong vocal technique, musicianship and performance skills
- Teach on the BTEC International Level 3 Performing Arts Programme
- Play piano to support classes, rehearsals, examinations and performances
- Accompany students during singing lessons, coaching sessions and rehearsals
- Support artistic development of students, enhancing technical abilities and creative expression
- Deliver engaging and inspiring lessons aligned with industry standards
- Prepare students for examinations, auditions, competitions and future professional opportunities
- Serve as Musical Director for productions, ensuring high quality musical interpretation and performance standards
- Musically direct at least one full length musical theatre production annually, in addition to supporting two other major productions
- Direct musical elements of productions including vocal direction, harmonies, accompaniment and ensemble work
- Collaborate with Head of Musical Theatre, Heads of Department, production teams and external creatives
- Support all stages of production from initial planning and auditions through to final performances
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years' teaching experience in musical theatre
- Proven ability to teach musical theatre in group and one to one settings
- Piano skills essential, with ability to confidently accompany classes, rehearsals, examinations and performances
- Experienced Musical Director with ability to arrange and direct musical elements of theatre productions
- Experience teaching singing to students of varying ages and abilities
- Bachelor's degree in a related subject (preferred)
- Industry experience within performing arts and strong understanding of professional musical theatre standards
- Strong creative vision with ability to bring scripts and scores to life
- Extensive knowledge of musical theatre repertoire, vocal techniques, performance history and industry practices
- Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills
- Hard working, adaptable and able to work effectively within a collaborative team environment
- Proven ability to inspire and motivate students from beginner to pre professional level

- Internal/External Contacts: Senior Managers, Students, UK and International Industry Professionals
Role Overview
- The Musical Director and Singing Teacher will play a key role within the Musical Theatre department, supporting artistic and educational development of students aged 4 18.
- Working closely with the Head of Musical Theatre, deliver high quality singing tuition, provide musical direction for productions and contribute to delivery of an outstanding musical theatre programme.
- Inspire students of all abilities, helping prepare them for examinations, performances, auditions and potential professional careers.
- Be an exceptional musician, confident accompanist and experienced musical director.
- Playing piano is an essential requirement of this role.
Artistic and Educational Delivery
- Teach singing to students of all ages and abilities, ensuring development of strong vocal technique, musicianship and performance skills.
- Teach on the BTEC International Level 3 Performing Arts Programme.
