About the Role
Progressive is seeking an MPD DAS Engineer for a contract role in Abu Dhabi. The role involves operating MPD choke manifold systems, monitoring real-time well data, and supporting drilling operations.

Responsibilities
- Operate and support MPD choke manifold systems from control units/laptops during drilling operations
- Monitor and interpret real time well data (pressure, flow, BHP, ECD, pit volume) to maintain well integrity
- Develop and maintain hydraulic models to optimise pressure control and drilling performance
- Support MPD Supervisors with pressure control decisions during connections, kicks, or losses
- Ensure the well remains within the influx and fracture pressure limits
- Set up and manage data acquisition systems (DAQ/DAS) and ensure accurate data quality
- Generate daily reports, operational logs, and post job analysis
- Assist in rig up, calibration, testing, and troubleshooting of MPD/DAQ equipment
- Coordinate with drilling teams and client representatives for real time operational alignment
Requirements
- Proven experience in MPD, UBD, or Air Drilling
- Hands on exposure to choke manifold operation (critical)
- Hands on exposure to RCD systems
- Hands on exposure to real time pressure monitoring
- Experience with hydraulic modelling / drilling simulations
- Familiarity with DAQ/DAS systems (e.g. EdgeX, Fardux, WITS, SCADA)
- Strong understanding of Bottom Hole Pressure (BHP) management
- Strong understanding of well control principles
- Strong understanding of pressure envelopes
