Job Purpose

  • This role is responsible for designing, developing, and enhancing mobile applications to support GPSSA’s enterprise systems and ensure seamless user experiences.
  • By adhering to coding standards, collaborating with stakeholders, this role ensures the delivery of high performing and secure mobile solutions.
  • This role also monitors project progress and identifies risks to ensure mobile applications meet organizational and strategic goals.

Core Responsibilities

  • Strengthens GPSSA's enterprise systems by writing clean, maintainable, and efficient code across various programming languages and frameworks, ensuring compliance with established coding standards and architectural guidelines.
  • Shapes technical solutions by creating detailed design documents, including system architecture diagrams, data models, and interface specifications, that align with GPSSA's enterprise architecture standards and patterns.
  • Synthesizes complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions while considering system performance, security, and maintainability throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Develops and maintains mobile application documentation and procedures to ensure consistency and alignment with organizational policies.
  • Maintains adherence to industry standards and best practices in mobile development.
  • Implements robust coding standards and documentation practices to ensure high quality deliverables.
  • Follows change management process for all developments efforts.
  • Creates and maintains manuals and standard operation procedures (SOP’s), user guides and technical documents like design specification and testing plans.
  • Works closely with other teams, to ensure smooth integration and transition of mobile solutions.
  • Work closely with Government communication team to ensure applications designs are aligned with GPSSA design standards.

Self Management Responsibilities

  • Defines performance goals at the start of the year in discussion with the Line Manager and ensures that the goals are achieved during the year.
  • Identifies the training and development requirements for self and agrees on them with the Line Manager to ensure that the required trainings are arranged and attended.
  • Strives to achieve the highest levels of proficiency on all the competencies and skills required to perform the role.
  • Keeps abreast of professional developments, new techniques and current issues through continued education and professional growth.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in mobile application development.
