MEP Draughtsman

Role Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare MEP shop drawings, coordination drawings, and as-built drawings using AutoCAD.
• Produce HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire fighting, and ELV system drawings.
• Prepare layouts, sections, elevations, schematics, and installation details.
• Coordinate MEP drawings with architectural, structural, and civil disciplines to resolve clashes.
• Revise drawings for consultant comments, site conditions, and design changes.
• Prepare material schedules, quantity take-offs, and technical documentation.
• Maintain drawing registers, revision logs, and document control procedures.
• Participate in coordination meetings and provide drafting support during project execution.
• Conduct site visits to verify installations and update as-built drawings when required.
• Complete drawings according to project schedules.

Qualifications and Experience

• A diploma or bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, civil engineering, drafting, or a related discipline is required.
• A minimum of 3–5 years of experience as an MEP Draughtsman is required.
• Experience in residential, commercial, high-rise, hospitality, healthcare, or industrial construction projects is required.
• GCC or UAE experience is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with local authority requirements and approval processes is advantageous.
• AutoCAD certification or an equivalent drafting qualification is preferred.

Technical Skills

• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD is mandatory.
• Working knowledge of Revit MEP, Navisworks, BIM software, and AutoCAD MEP is advantageous.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and engineering drawings.
• Strong understanding of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and ELV systems.
• Knowledge of MEP coordination and clash detection processes.
