Prepare mechanical layouts for piping, valves, drainage, supports, firefighting interfaces, and equipment rooms
Coordinate MEP drawings with architectural, structural, civil, ceiling, equipment, and service layouts
Identify drawing clashes and raise them early before site execution
Support site engineers with sketches, details, sections, installation markups, and quick turnaround drawing updates
Maintain drawing logs, revision history, submission status, consultant comments, and latest approved drawing records
Ensure as built drawings are updated progressively based on actual site installation

Requirements

Diploma or technical qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or Drafting discipline
4 to 8 years of MEP drafting experience
Strong AutoCAD skills
Ability to read and understand MEP drawings, IFC drawings, shop drawings, specifications, schedules, SLDs, equipment layouts, and site markups
Good understanding of HVAC, electrical containment, chilled water piping, mechanical equipment, firefighting interfaces, ELV/BMS coordination, and access requirements
Strong drawing organization, layering, plotting, revision control, and submission discipline
MS Office proficiency
Data center, telecom, critical infrastructure, hospital, airport, industrial, or technical building experience preferred
UAE project experience preferred
Revit/BIM experience preferred

Role Purpose

We are looking for an experienced MEP Draftsman to support data center delivery works, including HVAC, electrical, mechanical, ELV, BMS, firefighting interfaces, main equipment layouts, site fixes, redlines, coordination drawings, shop drawings, and as built documentation.
The role requires more than AutoCAD drafting. The draftsman must understand site execution, MEP coordination, access requirements, equipment clearances, drawing revisions, consultant comments, and handover requirements.
The draftsman will work closely with site engineers, QA/QC, subcontractors, consultants, and project management to convert site reality into clear, controlled, buildable, and traceable drawings.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and update MEP shop drawings, coordination drawings, builders work drawings, redline drawings, and as built drawings.
Prepare HVAC layouts including ducting, chilled water piping, equipment locations, supports, insulation areas, access panels, and maintenance clearances.
Prepare electrical layouts including containment, cable trays, trunking, panels, power routes, earthing, equipment connections, and service coordination.
Prepare mechanical layouts for piping, valves, drainage, supports, firefighting interfaces, and equipment rooms.
Prepare drawing details for site fixes, routing changes, clashes, access corrections, and installation improvements.
Update drawings based on site markups, consultant comments, engineer instructions, inspection comments, and approved changes.
Coordinate MEP drawings with architectural, structural, civil, ceiling, equipment, and service layouts.
Identify drawing clashes and raise them early before site execution.
Support site engineers with sketches, details, sections, installation markups, and quick turnaround drawing updates.
Ensure equipment clearances, maintenance access, service zones, and operational requirements are properly shown.
Maintain drawing consistency between shop drawings, coordination drawings, redlines, and as builts.
Maintain drawing logs, revision history, submission status, consultant comments, and latest approved drawing records.

Required Qualifications

Diploma or technical qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or Drafting discipline.
4 to 8 years of MEP drafting experience.
Data center, telecom, critical infrastructure, hospital, airport, industrial, or technical building experience is preferred.
UAE project experience is preferred.

Required Technical Skills

Strong AutoCAD skills are mandatory.
Revit/BIM experience is preferred.
Ability to read and understand MEP drawings, IFC drawings, shop drawings, specifications, schedules, SLDs, equipment layouts, and site markups.
Good understanding of HVAC, electrical containment, chilled water piping, mechanical equipment, firefighting interfaces, ELV/BMS coordination, and access requirements.
