- Operate word processing, dictation, and transcription equipment

- Upload reports and documents into Hospital Information System
- Participate in educational programs, in service meetings, and trainings
- Participate in Quality Improvement programs

- Experience in medical transcription
- Excellent listening, written and oral communication skills in English
- Proficiency with word processing, dictation, and transcription equipment
- Ability to work under pressure with time constraints
- Knowledge of DOH, OSH, JCI, ISO and other regulatory requirements
- Good eye, hand and auditory coordination

Job Overview
- Interpret and transcribe dictation into medical reports and correspondence regarding patients’ assessment, work up, therapeutic procedures, clinical course, diagnoses, prognosis, etc.
Responsibilities
- Operate and utilize designated word processing, dictation, and transcription equipment as directed to complete assignments.
- Meet the required efficiency set by the doctors/department.
- Provide quality transcription by the use of proper resources and proofreading of own work.
- Ensure the confidentiality of the contents of the reports transcribed.
- Upload reports and documents into Hospital Information System.
- Participate in educational programs, in service meetings and trainings as directed.
- Attend meetings as required.
- Participate in Quality Improvement programs as required.
Requirements
- Excellent listening, written and oral communication skills, including English usage, grammar, punctuation, and style.
- Work under pressure with time constraints.
- Follow department’s/doctors’ formats in doing reports.
- Understand diverse accents and varying dictation styles.
- Good eye, hand and auditory coordination.
- Well aware of the DOH, OSH, JCI, ISO and other regulatory body requirements.
Working Conditions
- General office environment. Quiet surroundings. Adequate lighting.
- Primarily sedentary work, with continuous use of earphones, keyboard, foot control, and where applicable, video display terminal.
