Job purpose
Perform maintenance repairs and services on mechanical machinery and equipment to ensure efficient operation.
Support simple and combined-cycle power generation blocks and balance-of-plant systems while reducing production downtime.
Key accountabilities
- Repair and maintain a wide range of mechanical equipment and systems in the power plant.
- Perform preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance with minimum direction and supervision.
- Attend on-call duties when required and restore mechanical systems as quickly as possible.
- Assist Technician Engineers or independently complete allocated jobs using relevant methods and procedures.
- Select the required tools and equipment to complete work safely and effectively.
- Follow EHS standards and plant operating requirements to minimise workplace accidents and injuries.
- Monitor repeated breakdowns and implement solutions to prevent recurrence.
- Direct contract workers in maintenance repairs and services according to agreed plans.
- Accept verbal or written direction from the supervisor.
Work environment
- The role involves significant exposure to high-pressure steam, high voltage, arc flash, magnetic fields, noise, fumes, heat, humidity, dust, height, chemicals, acid, mineral oil, and other liquids.
- Avoiding risks of danger, accidents, and health issues is a major requirement of the work.
