About the Role
ATGC Transport and General Contracting L.L.C is seeking a Mechanical Procurement Engineer for high-rise building projects in Abu Dhabi.

Responsibilities
- Review project specifications, drawings, BOQ, and material take offs to understand high rise project requirements
- Evaluate supplier quotations against project specifications to ensure full compliance
- Prepare comprehensive Material Submittal packages for consultant and client approval
- Identify, evaluate, and pre qualify international and local manufacturers/vendors
- Negotiate competitive pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and warranty conditions with suppliers
- Float inquiries, evaluate, and finalize sub contract agreements for specialized mechanical works
- Create, update, and monitor Mechanical Procurement Trackers and Material Status Logs
- Align procurement schedules with construction and MEP site timelines
- Coordinate with logistics and stores teams regarding shipment, customs clearance, delivery, and storage
- Issue clear, legally binding Purchase Orders and Sub Contract agreements
- Coordinate with QC team for factory inspections or material receipt inspections
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university
- Minimum of 5 to 8 years of dedicated experience in MEP/Mechanical procurement within the construction sector
- Proven track record working on high rise buildings, towers, or complex commercial infrastructure projects with a Grade A or tier 1 general contracting company
- Deep technical knowledge of high rise mechanical systems including central HVAC, high pressure plumbing, fire fighting systems, and smoke extract networks
- Established relationship network with prominent local and international mechanical equipment suppliers
- Familiarity with regional local authority guidelines, civil defense standards, and green building regulations
- Strong skills in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or Candy/CCS) and MS Office
- Ability to interpret AutoCAD/BIM drawings

Job Purpose
- The Mechanical Procurement Engineer is responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and purchasing mechanical and MEP materials, equipment, and sub contracting services for large scale high rise building and tower projects.
- Ensure all mechanical materials are procured on time, within budget, and in compliance with project specifications, local regulations, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Review Technical Packages: Analyze project specifications, drawings, BOQ, and material take offs.
- Technical Compliance: Evaluate supplier quotations against project specifications.
- Material Submittals: Prepare comprehensive Material Submittal packages for consultant and client approval.
- Sourcing Strategy: Identify, evaluate, and pre qualify international and local manufacturers/vendors.
- Commercial Negotiations: Negotiate competitive pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and warranty conditions.
- Sub Contractor Procurement: Float inquiries, evaluate, and finalize sub contract agreements.
- Procurement Logs: Create, update, and monitor Mechanical Procurement Trackers and Material Status Logs.
- Lead Time Management: Align procurement schedules with construction and MEP site timelines.
- Logistics Coordination: Coordinate with logistics and stores teams regarding shipment, customs clearance, delivery, and storage.
- Purchase Orders: Issue clear, legally binding Purchase Orders and Sub Contract agreements.
- Inspection & Claims: Coordinate with QC team for factory inspections or material receipt inspections.
Candidate Profile & Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university.
- Membership in regional engineering associations (e.g., Society of Engineers) is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 5 to 8 years of dedicated experience in MEP/Mechanical procurement within the construction sector.
- Proven track record working on high rise buildings, towers, or complex commercial infrastructure projects with a Grade A or tier 1 general contracting company.
- Deep technical knowledge of high rise mechanical systems including central HVAC, high pressure plumbing, fire fighting systems, and smoke extract networks.
- Established relationship network with prominent local and international mechanical equipment suppliers.
- Familiarity with regional local authority guidelines, civil defense standards, and green building regulations (e.g., Estidama, LEED).
- Strong skills in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or Candy/CCS), MS Office (especially advanced Excel), and ability to interpret AutoCAD/BIM drawings.
- Excellent commercial negotiation skills and professional verbal and written English communication.
- Ability to work under high pressure and meet tight deadlines.
