Role Overview

  • The post holder will be an experienced and skilled mechanical technician and supervisor undertaking a range of detailed maintenance activities on the Typhoon aircraft or aircraft components.
  • Demonstrates a distinct ability to analyze and diagnose faults to aircraft systems, equipment and assemblies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertaking detailed maintenance, inspection and supervision activities on the Typhoon and its components.
  • Assuring work carried out has been completed in accordance with the work package using the relevant approved technical information.
  • Resolving faults and maintenance issues, including configuration management.
  • Undertaking and complete tasked maintenance & diagnostic activities on the Typhoon aircraft or components.
  • Demonstrate a flexible and proactive attitude to carrying out responsibilities appropriate to the role.
  • Maintain personal task authorizations for working on aircraft or components.
  • Ensuring that maintenance is undertaken to schedule and resolve any issues, escalate as required.
  • Undertaking fault evaluation and raise ad hoc work cards for 'found faults' during maintenance.
  • Supervising the team to ensure that maintenance is undertaken to schedule and highlight any issues.
  • Ensuring that staff are sufficiently competent and approved for the maintenance tasks allocated to them.
  • Undertaking support tasks within the Aircraft or component maintenance facility.
  • Provide guidance and leadership to the team.

Requirements

  • Completion of an Engineering Apprenticeship, ideally in Aeronautical Engineering or Military equivalent apprenticeship / qualifications.
  • Academic qualification for this role is a minimum of City & Guilds 2675 or 2661 in Aeronautical Engineering and Maintenance or equivalent.
  • Requires a broad and in depth product knowledge/competency within own technical/subject area.
  • Experienced and competent leader at this level. Requires a minimum of 2 years working at Technician level prior to undertaking a Supervisor role.
  • Practical experience and expertise in the application of aviation safety standards and safe operating practices.
  • Ensure personal compliance with the risk assessments, SHE policies and procedure.
