Responsibilities
- Undertake detailed maintenance, inspection activities on Typhoon Avionic systems
- Assist in resolving faults and maintenance issues, including awareness of configuration management
- Perform component removals, inspections, repairs, modifications, fault rectifications, replacements, and functional/system tests
- Maintain personal task authorization for working on components in accordance with QAF requirements
- Progress reporting against delivery targets to supervisor
- Undertake support tasks within Base Maintenance Facility to maintain compliance with MOE and QAF procedures
- Undertake fault evaluation and raise ad hoc work cards for found faults during maintenance
- Ensure all maintenance activities are appropriately documented and airworthiness records are maintained
- Maintain a personal Log Book to demonstrate currency and recency
Requirements
- Typhoon Avionic Experience
- Completion of an Engineering Apprenticeship, ideally in Aeronautical Engineering or Military equivalent
- Minimum of City & Guilds 2675 or 2661 in Aeronautical Engineering and Maintenance or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year working within Typhoon Base Maintenance
- IT Literate
- Experience in Maintenix system (IMS) and Eurofighter support system (ESS) desirable

Role Overview
- The post holder will report to the Avionics Junior Supervisor and be an experienced and skilled avionic technician, undertaking a range of detailed base maintenance activities on Typhoon aircraft.
- The post holder requires an experience of maintenance on the Typhoon, understanding of approved data set and is competent to carrying out maintenance instructions in accordance with the organisation’s regulatory framework.
- Demonstrates a distinct ability of trade knowledge of Typhoon aircraft and assemblies, follow diagnostic procedures and work effectively within a team.
Core Activity
- Undertaking detailed maintenance, inspection activities on the Typhoon Avionic systems. Assuring your work undertaken is completed in accordance with the work package, using the relevant approved technical information. Assisting in resolving faults and maintenance issues, including an awareness of c
- Undertaking and complete tasked maintenance activities on Typhoon Avionic systems, which may include, as appropriate, component removals, inspections, repairs, modifications, fault rectifications, replacements and / or functional / system test.
- Demonstrate a flexible and proactive attitude to carrying out responsibilities appropriate to the role and takes direction appropriately.
- Maintaining a personal task authorisation for working on components in accordance with QAF requirements.
- Progress reporting against delivery targets to supervisor.
- Undertaking support tasks within the Base Maintenance Facility which are required to maintain compliance with the MOE and QAF procedures (e.g. oversight checks, control of tooling / test equipment).
- Undertaking fault evaluation and raise ad hoc work cards for ‘found faults’ during maintenance.
- Ensuring all Maintenance activities are appropriately documented and airworthiness records are maintained on relevant systems (IT / paper based). Compile required reporting, identify any issues and escalate as appropriate.
- Maintaining a personal Log Book to demonstrate currency and recency, on completion of On the Job training (OJT) activities, sign other personnel’s logbooks as appropriate within your trade and skills boundaries.
