Role Overview
The employer is seeking an experienced Mechanical Inspector for a project in Abu Dhabi.
The role inspects contractor activities and construction work for compliance with approved documents, specifications, codes, safety requirements, and contract requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise, monitor, and inspect contractor activities against approved shop drawings, materials, method statements, and inspection and test plans.
- Inspect site conditions, existing property, utilities, landscaping, temporary works, and permanent works before and during construction.
- Review delivered materials and equipment for conformity with approved samples and ensure proper storage.
- Review shop drawings against contract drawings, specifications, local codes, statutory requirements, and international best practice.
- Attend contractor inspection requests and report non-compliant work for corrective action.
- Monitor quality, safety, health, and environmental compliance with contractual specifications and risk assessments.
- Prepare daily logs, reports, surveillance reports, non-conformance reports, and progress photo records.
- Coordinate related discipline work and provide technical input to resolve site issues.
- Assist with completed-work inspections, punch lists, start-up, testing, commissioning, and handover.
