Responsibilities
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair machinery to company standards
- Apply skills to ensure target production throughput rate or objectives are safely executed
- Demonstrate proficiencies in pneumatics, hydraulics, engines, controls, machine component clearances/fits
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical problems related to production equipment
- Assist Supervisor and Engineer in preparation of Root Cause Analysis Reports
- Identify machine defective components and communicate to Supervisor and Engineer
- Assist in commissioning of new machinery or re commissioning of repaired machinery
- Read technical drawings, work orders and production schedules
- Ensure jobs are carried out as per schedule and steps in maintenance job cards
- Use and place materials in an economical manner
- Perform work safely and utilize safety equipment properly
- Maintain tools and equipment and upkeep housekeeping

- Technical Certificate in Machine Maintenance, Mechanical Maintenance or Electrical Maintenance, or Machine Repair Apprenticeship

Overview
- The Mechanical Fitter is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing and overhauling machinery to company standards.
Responsibilities
- Apply skills and knowledge and ability to ensure target production throughput rate or objectives are safely executed in line with Section Plan, KPIs, Qatar Shipyard Technology Solutions Values and IMS system.
- Demonstrate work behaviors consistent with company values and work within company policies, standards, procedures and any legislative requirements.
- Adhere to health, safety, security and environmental policies, procedures, instructions and controls for the safety of self and others.
- Demonstrates proficiencies in pneumatics, hydraulics, engines, controls, machine component clearances / fits and an overall understanding machine operation and function.
- Ensure compliance to quality management procedures and controls to deliver high quality services and products.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical problems related to the production equipment.
- Assist Supervisor and Engineer in preparation of Root Cause Analysis Reports.
- Identify machine defective components and parts and communicate this to Supervisor and Engineer.
- Assist Supervisor and Engineer in commissioning of new machinery or re commissioning of repaired machinery.
- Read technical drawings, work orders and production schedules to determine product or job instructions and specifications.
- Ensure that jobs are carried out as per schedule and steps stipulated in the maintenance job cards.
- Use and place materials in an economical manner.
Qualifications
- Technical Certificate in Machine Maintenance, Mechanical Maintenance or Electrical Maintenance. Or Machine Repair Apprenticeship
