About the Role
Qatar Shipyard Technology Solutions is seeking a Dimensional Control Engineer to supervise and manage dimensional control survey activities for structural assemblies and piping spools.

Responsibilities
- Develop, plan, and implement dimensional survey programs in accordance with project specifications and schedules
- Review and interpret project drawings, models, and specifications to prepare Dimensional Control / Measurement Plan
- Plan and execute surveying and dimensional verification activities for fabrication, assembly, and installation phases
- Ensure adherence to Dimensional Control Inspection & Test Plan (DC ITP) at all stages
- Review, validate, and approve dimensional control reports
- Maintain detailed records of all dimensional inspections and survey data
- Manage and track all Dimensional Control survey requests
- Verify calibration and certification of surveying instruments
- Liaise with Client Discipline Representatives, production team, and Quality Inspectors
- Supervise and mentor Sr./dimensional controllers
- Support Fit Up, Alignment, and Weld Visual Inspections as required
Requirements
- Experience in dimensional control surveying for structural and piping fabrication
- Knowledge of surveying instruments (Leica, SOKKIA, Topcon)
- Ability to interpret project drawings and specifications
- Supervisory experience

Overview
- Preference will be given to Qatari candidates.
- Supervise, oversee and manage dimensional control survey activities to ensure all structural assemblies and piping spools meet specified dimensions and tolerances.
Accountabilities
- Develop, plan, and implement dimensional survey programs in accordance with project specifications and schedules.
- Review and interpret project drawings, models, and specifications to prepare a comprehensive Dimensional Control / Measurement Plan.
- Plan and execute surveying and dimensional verification activities for fabrication, assembly, and installation phases.
- Ensure strict adherence to the Dimensional Control Inspection & Test Plan (DC ITP) at all stages.
- Review, validate, and formally approve dimensional control reports.
- Maintain detailed and traceable records of all dimensional inspections, survey data, and control activities.
- Manage and track all Dimensional Control (DC) survey requests.
- Verify that all surveying instruments and equipment are calibrated, certified, and within validity.
- Ensure all Dimensional Control personnel are working with the latest approved drawings.
- Liaise and coordinate with Client Discipline Representatives, production team, Quality Inspectors, and Fabrication Leads.
- Supervise and mentor Sr./dimensional controllers.
- Promote teamwork and effective communication.
