About the Role
Qatar Shipyard Technology Solutions is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to ensure proper functioning of HVAC and building systems at the Ras Laffan yard. The role involves operating and maintaining HVAC, LV power, ELV systems, and plumbing, as well as supervising technicians and subcontractors.

Responsibilities
- Develop a deep understanding of the yard specific maintenance strategy and support the Head of Maintenance in breaking down the strategy into short to medium time horizon work plans and tactics
- Operate and maintain HVAC equipment, including dehumidifiers, chillers, AHUs, pumps, fan coil units, VRV units, ACCU units, window AC units, split AC units and ventilation systems
- Operate and maintain LV Power & Lighting system, Elevator, sliding door, Dock leveler, BMU, ELV systems (Access Control, Barrier gate, Intercom)
- Operate and maintain other building systems and Plumbing equipment (potable water booster pumps, circulation pumps, water heaters)
- Prepare and manage all spare parts required for the maintenance of the Equipment and related assets
- Support the Head of Maintenance in the preparation of maintenance strategies to reduce failure rates and improve maintenance KPIs
- Prepare RCA reports and provide proposals for preventing repeat failures and ensuring lessons learned
- Prepare Scope Of Work (SOW), Scope Of Service (SOS) and Tender documentation for sub contractors works
- Supervise sub contractors and ensure compliance with scope of work
- Lead and supervise maintenance technicians
- Prepare fit for purpose Work Permits and Risk Assessment for identification, control and/or mitigation of workplace risk
- Maintain maintenance records
Requirements
- Engineering Degree in Mechanical or HVAC
- 5 years of relevant experience as a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, HVAC Maintenance Engineer or equivalent
- O&M Skill of HVAC, LV, Plumbing, and ELV Systems
- Read and comprehend HVAC drawings and schematics, including control diagrams
- Understand HVAC systems and components
- Capable of reviewing HVAC calculations and other technical data from contractors
- Capable of examining existing HVAC system to determine condition and identify areas for improvement
- Knowledge of all Building structures and services
- Ability to learn requirements and needs of new systems
- Perform shipyard maintenance operations
- Carry out facility management

Role Overview
- The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for proper functioning of all heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment in the yard and all structures, services in the main people buildings.
- The Maintenance Engineer leverages deep understanding of maintenance strategies in order to contribute to day to day operational maintenance expertise and leadership and supports the Head of Maintenance in monitoring and implementing the strategies for managing the shipyards assets throughout their

Key Accountabilities
- Develop a deep understanding of the yard specific maintenance strategy and supports the Head of Maintenance in breaking down the strategy into short to medium time horizon work plans and tactics.
- Operate and maintain HVAC equipment, including but not limited to dehumidifiers, chillers, AHUs, pumps, fan coil units, Variable Refrigerant Volume (VRV) units, Air Cooled Condensing Unit (ACCU) units, window air conditioning units, split air conditioning units and ventilation systems and all its co
- Operate and maintain Low Voltage (LV) Power & Lighting system, Elevator, sliding door, Dock leveler, Building Maintenance Unit (BMU), Electrical Low Voltage (ELV) systems consisting of Access Control System, Barrier gate, Intercom and all its components.
- Operate and maintain other building systems and Plumbing equipment’s consist of potable water booster pumps, circulation pumps, water heaters and all its components.

Qualifications
- Engineering Degree in Mechanical or HVAC.
Experience
