- Prepare project brief and discuss with management to conclude whether to bid or not
- Analyze project scope, technical requirements, and client specifications
- Review drawings, specifications, BOQs, and tender documents and check for missing documents
- Perform detailed quantity take offs for HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, and piping systems
- Prepare material, labor, equipment, subcontractor, and overhead cost estimates with price build up
- Develop project budgets and tender pricing
- Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations
- Prepare technical and commercial bid submissions
- Identify value engineering opportunities and cost saving alternatives
- Conduct risk assessments and include contingencies where necessary
- Coordinate with other teams (Electrical) for any mismatch
- Maintain estimation databases, pricing records, and historical cost information
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 5 8 years of experience in mechanical estimation for MEP projects
- Experience in reviewing tender documents and performing quantity take offs
- Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, fire fighting, and piping systems
