Position title: Estimation Engineer Mechanical.
Reports to the Estimation Manager and, at the second reporting level, the Assistant Vice President.

Job Purpose
Assist the Estimation Manager in understanding prices and reporting tender scope through properly recorded quantity take-offs and enquiries.
Tender Assessment
- Assess incoming tenders, research the client and tender closing date, and prioritize tender activities with the Estimation Manager.
- Review tender documents to assess scope, risks, tender complexity, and other factors before providing feedback.
- Evaluate tender documents, drawings, specifications, and schedules.
Information and Quantity Take-Offs
- Identify missing information and send enquiries to consultants, main contractors, and suppliers.
- Cross-check quantity take-offs prepared by junior staff and price work using appropriate specifications.
Estimation and Pricing
- Prepare estimates and cost comparisons using supplier quotations in coordination with the procurement team.
- Apply local authority requirements when preparing tender quotations.
- Prepare reports identifying scope items that cannot be quantified for supervisor review.
Tender Documentation
- File BOQs in compliance with specifications and drawings and submit them to the client.
- Assist with offer letters, tender schedules, programs, qualifications, and other items required for tender submissions.
- Study and recommend tender amendments where applicable using client feedback on submitted tenders.
Requirements
- 7–14 years of experience, as stated in the source job data.
- Perform mechanical MEP tender reviews, quantity take-offs, enquiries, pricing, and estimate preparation.
- Evaluate tender documents, drawings, specifications, schedules, scope, risks, and tender complexity.
- Apply local authority requirements when preparing tender quotations.
- Prepare BOQs, cost comparisons, tender reports, offer letters, tender schedules, programs, and qualifications.
