We’re looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our Water Digital Delivery Group.

Through our digital delivery structure, in this diverse role you will be responsible for providing technical leadership in the planning and execution of mechanical engineering projects for water utilities, local government, and resources industry clients. You will be technically skilled in water/wastewater treatment projects and will exercise sound judgement and initiative while undertaking your project responsibilities.
Developing high-quality multi-disciplinary technical outcomes, to ensure a seamless solution.
Working with a senior or discipline lead towards publishing coherent mechanical designs.
Application of engineering best practices, client standards, Australian and/or International standards.
Client collaboration to; foster ongoing relationships, define project requirements, address concerns, provide technical expertise, and deliver water/wastewater solutions.
Managing time to achieve financial targets within projects, including utilizing graduate and offshore workers.

A relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering, recognized in Australia
4+ years’ experience as a mechanical engineer, working on water/wastewater treatment or transfer projects.
Specific experience to fulfill the role, including: Writing technical specifications and/or datasheets for mechanical equipment for water and wastewater treatment across municipal and industrial applications. An understanding of hydraulic principles and hydraulic system design, including typical in-line components, pump calculations and pump selection. Piping design. Metallic and plastic. Above ground or below ground installation, and design considerations. Experience in engineering summary or detailed mechanical design of water/wastewater treatment plants. Working knowledge of Australian and international pumping and piping design codes Working knowledge of municipal water authority design standards.

Experience in all design phases – concept through to detailed design
Prior application of Water Corporation design standards
Use of excel based system calculations or WANDA hydraulic modelling software
Multidisciplinary understanding – pump motor sizing, instrument process connections, pipe support dead loads etc
The role will typically involve being responsible for several concurrent tasks, proposals or projects, and therefore ability to manage competing priorities in a professional and proactive manner is desirable.
Strong writing and communication skills to produce high quality reports and other written outputs
