Mechanical Engineer, Intermediate (7869)

Submarine Programs - Acoustics, Shock, and Vibration Development is looking for a mechanical engineer to join their team!

In this position the candidate will work on the acoustic design of new submarine projects, while ensuring that existing submarines continue to meet their performance requirements.

The candidate will also conduct laboratory testing of new acoustic technology for future fleet use, including the use of data acquisition systems to acquire and analyze dynamic signals.

This position may require some travel to vendors and shipyards to support emergent testing.

Candidates should have strong verbal and written communication skills, program management, and leadership skills and be able to work in a teaming environment.

Required Combination of Knowledge and Skill

• Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering or science field and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or

• Masters degree from an accredited college or university in a related technical, engineering or science field and a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience; or

• Currently an Intermediate Reactor Training Engineer, Refueling Engineer, or Field (RPCO) Engineer at the Company.
