Job Description

The Naval Nuclear Laboratory IT Department is looking for an Application Hosting Administrator to support custom and low‑code application infrastructure. The incumbent will set up, configure, monitor, and maintain servers and other hosting infrastructure while adhering to cybersecurity best practices and requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

Provisioning and configuring application hosting environments for custom and low‑code solutions.

Monitoring performance, availability, and capacity of hosted applications and underlying infrastructure.

Applying security controls, patches, and hardening standards in accordance with cybersecurity requirements and policies.

Collaborating with application developers, cybersecurity personnel, and operations staff to troubleshoot issues and optimize hosting solutions.

Maintaining documentation for environments, configurations, procedures, and change records.

Supporting incident response and problem management activities related to hosted applications and platforms.

Required Combination of Knowledge and Skill

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or
  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with ColdFusion or Power Platform infrastructure.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including effective communication with colleagues and leadership.
  • Experience documenting processes, procedures, configurations, and test plans.
  • System administration experience (e.g., Active Directory, Group Policy Management, administration of users and computers).
  • Experience with virtual environments, including creation and maintenance of golden images and server virtual machines (VMs).
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools and log analysis for hosted applications and infrastructure.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced, mission‑focused environment.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to applying cybersecurity best practices in day‑to‑day work.

Pay Range

  • The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is operated for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) by Fluor Marine Propulsion, LLC (FMP), a wholly owned subsidiary of Fluor Corporation. Naval Nuclear Laboratory personnel are FMP employees who work at four DOE facilities: Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory, Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory, Kenneth A. Kesselring Site, and Naval Reactors Facility, and at the U.S. Department of Defense-owned Nuclear Power Training Unit-Charleston.
