Overview

AtkinsRéalis is participating in the Alto high-speed rail project linking Québec City to Toronto as a partner within the Cadence consortium.

The posting is intended to express interest in future opportunities for a Building Mechanical Engineer within AtkinsRéalis.

About Cadence

The Cadence consortium includes CDPQ Infra, AtkinsRéalis, SYSTRA Canada, Keolis Canada, Air Canada, and SNCF Voyageurs.

The consortium was selected by the Canadian government to develop the high-speed rail project.

Role Responsibilities

  • Design building mechanical systems, including plumbing, heating, cooling, ventilation, and controls, in line with energy efficiency and sustainability standards.
  • Prepare and review drawings, specifications, technical reports, design calculations, and construction cost estimates.
  • Provide technical support to project managers and design teams and resolve construction-related technical issues.
  • Coordinate site follow-up and multidisciplinary mechanical and electrical design teams against client requirements, schedules, and budgets.
  • Coordinate technical, contractual, and financial activities and client communication with project directors.
  • Assess project risks and propose strategies to support successful delivery.

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and registration as a Professional Engineer with Professional Engineers Ontario.
  • At least five years of relevant building mechanical engineering experience in a consulting engineering firm.
  • Relevant project coordination experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and Revit.

Compensation

  • Expected annual compensation is between $90,000 and $130,000, with base salary determined by skills, experience, potential impact, and market considerations.
