Role Overview
Mechanical Draftsman role supporting material handling equipment and mechanical fabrication projects.
The role sits within the Design and Engineering department and requires 2–5 years of relevant experience.
Core Responsibilities
- Prepare general arrangement, fabrication, assembly, and detailed manufacturing drawings.
- Create drawings for conveyors, bucket elevators, hoppers, chutes, feeders, platforms, and structures.
- Create and modify 2D AutoCAD drawings and prepare 3D models or assemblies when required.
- Prepare bills of materials and material specifications from approved drawings.
- Develop fabrication details including dimensions, tolerances, welding symbols, sectional views, and assembly details.
- Incorporate client comments and revisions, submit drawings for approval, and release approved drawings to production.
- Coordinate with design, production, purchase, quality, and project teams.
- Check drawing accuracy, completeness, and manufacturability before release.
- Maintain drawing numbers, revisions, and document control.
- Support production and fabrication teams with drawing-related issues.
Required Skills
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in mechanical drafting, fabrication, conveyors, or material handling equipment.
- Strong knowledge of AutoCAD 2D.
- Good understanding of mechanical fabrication and manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of engineering drawings, welding symbols, tolerances, and material specifications.
- Ability to read customer specifications and prepare accurate bills of materials.
- Knowledge of structural sections, plates, shafts, bearings, and fasteners.
- SolidWorks or Inventor experience is an added advantage.
- Good coordination and communication skills and the ability to work under project deadlines.
Educational Qualification
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, ITI Mechanical, or an equivalent qualification.
- Experience in material handling equipment, conveyor systems, heavy fabrication, industrial equipment, or mechanical engineering companies is preferred.
Compensation
- Pay is ₹25,000 per month.
