Position Overview
Mechanical Draftsman role in the Design and Engineering department focused on material handling equipment and mechanical fabrication.
The role requires 2–5 years of relevant experience and involves preparing accurate manufacturing documentation.
Qualifications
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, ITI Mechanical, or an equivalent qualification.
- Relevant experience in mechanical drafting, fabrication, conveyors, or material handling equipment is required.
- Experience in material handling equipment manufacturing, conveyor systems, heavy fabrication, industrial equipment, or mechanical engineering companies is preferred.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of AutoCAD 2D is required.
- Working knowledge of SolidWorks or Inventor is an added advantage.
- Knowledge of mechanical fabrication, manufacturing processes, engineering drawings, welding symbols, tolerances, and material specifications is required.
- Ability to read customer specifications and prepare accurate bills of materials.
- Knowledge of structural sections, plates, shafts, bearings, and fasteners.
- Good coordination and communication skills and the ability to work under project deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare general arrangement, fabrication, assembly, and detailed drawings for material handling equipment.
- Prepare drawings for belt conveyors, screw conveyors, bucket elevators, chain conveyors, hoppers, chutes, feeders, platforms, and structures.
- Create and modify 2D drawings in AutoCAD and prepare 3D models and assemblies when required.
- Prepare bills of materials and material specifications from approved drawings.
- Develop fabrication drawings with dimensions, tolerances, welding symbols, sectional views, and assembly details.
- Incorporate client comments and revisions, then prepare drawings for client submission and approval.
- Release approved drawings to production and fabrication teams.
- Coordinate with Design, Production, Purchase, Quality, and Project teams.
- Check drawings for accuracy, completeness, and manufacturability before release.
- Maintain drawing numbers, revisions, and document control.
- Support production and fabrication teams in resolving drawing-related issues.
- Prepare drawings according to company standards and project or customer requirements.
Compensation
- Pay is ₹25,000 per month.
