About the Role
Parsons is seeking a Materials Inspector to perform tests and inspections on construction materials to ensure compliance with project specifications. Responsibilities
- Supervise all tests and sampling on site
- Witness all laboratory tests and in situ tests by contractor or third party tester on materials and prepare samples for testing
- Coordinate with Work Inspector to confirm approval of work for testing and discuss areas of concern
- Perform sampling and testing quickly to avoid undue delay to Contractor’s operations
- Perform regular checks of delivered materials to site for conformance with approved source or supplier
- Get involved in quality control and quality assurance
- Assist Senior Work Inspector (Materials) and Senior Materials Engineer in all activities related to review, approval, testing and acceptance of used materials
Requirements
- Technical Diploma or Degree in a related field with a minimum of 5+ years of experience in similar nature, or Civil Engineering graduate with minimum 3 years’ experience on roads, bridges, concrete and utilities projects
- Ability to read working drawings, related specifications, inspection and test plans and method statements
- Fully computer literate and able to utilize computer technology to access data, maintain records, generate reports
- Good written and oral communication and interpersonal skills

Job Description
