About the Role
Parsons Corporation seeks a Materials Engineer to ensure quality and compliance of construction materials for roads and utilities infrastructure projects in Abu Dhabi. Requires a Bachelor's in Civil or Materials Engineering, 8-12 years experience, and strong knowledge of Abu Dhabi standards and QA/QC processes.

Responsibilities
- Review and approve material submittals for roads and utilities works
- Ensure compliance with Abu Dhabi standards and authorities such as DMT, ADQCC, ADDC, and ITC
- Evaluate and approve asphalt and concrete mix designs in line with project specifications
- Coordinate with contractors and ADQCC approved laboratories for material testing and certification
- Witness and verify laboratory and field testing (soil, asphalt, concrete, compaction, etc.)
- Conduct site inspections to ensure proper material handling, storage, and installation
- Review test results (CBR, density tests, asphalt cores, concrete strength) and ensure compliance
- Manage Material Inspection Requests (MIRs) and maintain material approval logs
- Issue and monitor Non Conformance Reports (NCRs) and corrective actions
- Support compliance with utility materials requirements (HDPE, GRP, DI pipes, duct banks)
- Participate in technical meetings with clients, contractors, and authorities
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Materials Engineering
- Minimum 8–12 years’ experience, preferably on roads and utilities projects in Abu Dhabi/UAE
- Strong knowledge of DMT road standards, ADQCC testing procedures, ADDC/utility material standards, and international standards (ASTM, AASHTO, BS/EN)
- Proven experience in material submittals, mix design approvals, and QA/QC processes
- Hands on experience in site inspections and laboratory coordination
- Strong understanding of asphalt, concrete, soil, and infrastructure materials
- Excellent documentation and reporting skills
- Good communication skills in English

- Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Materials Engineer to join our team! In this role, you will ensure the quality, compliance, and performance of construction materials used in major roads and utilities infrastructure projects across Abu Dhabi.
What You'll Be Doing
- Review and approve material submittals for roads and utilities works, including asphalt, concrete, aggregates, pipes, and backfill materials.
- Ensure compliance with Abu Dhabi standards and authorities such as DMT, ADQCC, ADDC, and ITC.

What Desired Skills You'll Bring
- Experience working on Abu Dhabi infrastructure projects with leading consultants.
- Familiarity with Aconex, BIM 360, or similar systems.
- Certification in QA/QC or Material Engineering (ISO 9001 is a plus).
- Knowledge of sustainable materials and Estidama requirements.
- Experience with utility authority coordination (ADDC, Etisalat/DU).
- Ability to mentor junior engineers and inspectors.
- Arabic language skills are an advantage.
