Responsibilities
- Inspect, sample, and verify all incoming construction materials for compliance with approved material submittals and project specifications
- Witness and/or perform field and laboratory tests on materials in accordance with relevant standards
- Review and verify material test reports submitted by independent and project laboratories
- Coordinate with the contractor and laboratory for timely scheduling of tests and inspections
- Check storage, handling, and protection of materials at site to prevent damage, contamination, or deterioration
- Reject or quarantine non conforming materials and ensure corrective actions are implemented and documented
- Maintain detailed records of inspections, test requests, test results, non conformance reports, and material approvals
- Assist in the review of material submittals, certificates of compliance, mill test certificates, and other supporting documentation
- Verify that approved and traceable materials are used in the works and correctly referenced in as built documentation
- Coordinate with construction and quality teams to resolve material related issues and propose practical solutions
- Provide input to daily, weekly, and monthly reports regarding materials status, testing, and non conformances
Requirements
- Technical diploma or degree in a related field with minimum 5 years of experience in similar nature, or Civil Engineering graduate with minimum 3 years’ experience on utilities projects
- UAE experience required
- Familiarity with common field and laboratory test methods and equipment
- Ability to read and understand project specifications, drawings, and material submittals
- Strong documentation skills and attention to detail
- Good written and spoken English communication skills
- Basic computer skills, including MS Office and project related systems

Job Description
- Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Material Inspector to join our team! In this role you will get to perform the necessary tests, checking the arrived materials to ensure compliance with the project’s requirements and specification and inspection of all used materials on site.
What You'll Be Doing
- Inspect, sample, and verify all incoming construction materials (concrete, asphalt, aggregates, steel, pipes, cables, finishes, etc.) for compliance with approved material submittals and project specifications.
- Witness and/or perform field and laboratory tests on materials (e.g., concrete slump and cubes, compaction tests, rebar tests, coating tests) in accordance with relevant standards
- Review and verify material test reports submitted by independent and project laboratories to ensure accuracy and conformance to requirements.
- Coordinate with the contractor and laboratory for timely scheduling of tests and inspections to avoid delays to construction activities.
- Check storage, handling, and protection of materials at site to prevent damage, contamination, or deterioration.
- Reject or quarantine non conforming materials and ensure that corrective actions are implemented and documented.
- Maintain detailed records of inspections, test requests, test results, non conformance reports, and material approvals.
- Assist in the review of material submittals, certificates of compliance, mill test certificates, and other supporting documentation.

What Required Skills You'll Bring
- Technical diploma or degree in a related field with a minimum of (5) years of experience in similar nature or Civil Engineering graduate with a minimum of three (3) years’ experience on utilities projects.
- Has to have UAE experience
- Familiarity with common field and laboratory test methods and equipment.
- Ability to read and understand project specifications, drawings, and material submittals.
- Strong documentation skills and attention to detail for recording inspections and test results.
- Good written and spoken English communication skills.
- Basic computer skills, including use of MS Office and project related systems for reporting and record keeping
What Desired Skills You'll Bring
- Familiarity with local authority requirements and regional standards for materials.
- Certification in materials testing or inspection (e.g., ACI, relevant local authority/standards body) is an advantage.
- Strong coordination and interpersonal skills for working with contractors, labs, and client representatives.
- Proactive approach to identifying quality issues and driving timely resolution.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
