Role Overview
The Material Handler supports warehouse operations by receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping materials and customer orders.
The role also serves customers at the counter and supports sales teammates with product packaging requests.
Workplace
- The position is based in a warehouse and customer counter environment in Calgary, Alberta.
Responsibilities
- Pick, pack, and ship customer orders.
- Count, verify, receive, and put away vendor material and customer returns.
- Load and unload trucks and operate forklifts and other material handling equipment.
- Verify packing slips, document discrepancies or damage, and enter receipts into the computer system.
- Identify special-order and damaged material and store it appropriately.
- Record shipping discrepancies on bills of lading and initiate freight claims.
- Complete shipment documentation, including Transportation of Dangerous Goods documentation when required.
- Serve customers at the counter and enter orders.
- Maintain warehouse cleanliness and safety.
- Report safety, inventory, and damaged-product issues to supervisors.
