Role Overview
Serve as a Material Handler and back-up Delivery Driver supporting warehouse, customer service, delivery, and Profit Centre activities.
Work with customer orders, vendor shipments, customer returns, company trucks, and material handling equipment.
Material Handler Responsibilities
- Pick, pack, and ship customer orders and receive, count, verify, and put away vendor materials and customer returns.
- Load and unload trucks and operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely.
- Verify packing slips and computer receiving documents, record materials received, and report discrepancies or damage.
- Identify special-order and damaged materials and store them in the proper location.
- Document shipping discrepancies, initiate freight claims, and forward paperwork to the appropriate teammate.
- Complete shipment documentation, including Transportation of Dangerous Goods documentation where required.
- Maintain warehouse cleanliness and safety and report inventory, product, or safety issues to management.
- Assist teammates in servicing customers at the counter and support other Profit Centre activities.
Driver Responsibilities
- Drive the EMCO truck safely and comply with company policy, traffic laws, and provincial Ministry of Transportation legislation.
