Job Summary

Roles and Responsibilities

• Administer and control material receipts, issues, and storage.
• Determine the disposition of material overages, shortages, and damaged materials and advise on applicable insurance claims.
• Forecast future material use at the job site and control construction allowances.
• Coordinate with the chief engineer on requisitions for locally produced materials.
• Prepare or check arrangements for disposal of surplus materials.
• Ensure subordinate compliance with safety regulations and verify construction equipment and tools are safe.
• Initiate overage, shortage, damage, and reject reports and monitor material change reports.
• Participate in material scheduling meetings and recommend schedule adjustments based on critical material availability.
• Prepare color coding for locally procured materials and prepare storage plans.
• Check inventory, material deliveries at site, and receiving and issuing records for completeness, accuracy, and timeliness.
• Coordinate with procurement, field control, and field engineering to resolve material problems.
• Control costs, manage subcontractors, identify material losses, take corrective action, and use the FMC system.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related major.
• Minimum 5 to 10 years of experience as a supervisor.
• Project-based warehousing experience in the oil and gas or petrochemical industry.
• Comprehensive knowledge of material management.
• Technical competencies include organization management, planning performance, cost management, resource and work-front management, quality and safety management, and progress management.
• Additional competencies include requirement study, system utilization, communication, client management, subcontractor management, document management, risk management, and inventory management.
