Position Summary
The Junior Manufacturing Engineer will support the design, improvement, and launch of assembly processes.
The role provides exposure to tooling, robotics, automation, machine vision, AI-enabled analytics, and digital manufacturing.
The position involves real manufacturing projects with coaching from experienced engineers and is a replacement position.
Project and Process Responsibilities
- Handle small-scale projects from inception through completion, including feasibility, design, construction, try-out, launch, final buy-off, prototypes, and engineering changes.
- Conduct manpower efficiency studies using time and motion studies or standard data.
- Perform line balancing, manpower analysis, machine charting, and related efficiency analysis.
- Prepare reports, charts, and documentation required for engineering records and projects.
- Design solutions with departments and customers to improve production efficiency, ergonomics, safety, and maintenance.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist in developing material handling logistics, including aisle layouts, bin placement, and dunnage assists.
- Review and coordinate tooling design, building, approval, and capital budgets.
- Supervise equipment relocation and installation.
- Assist in setting up preventive maintenance programs for new equipment.
