Role Description
The Managing Director is responsible for the organization’s strategic direction, operations, and partnerships.
The role focuses on expanding opportunities and skills through programs, products, and organizational improvements.
The position is part-time and remote.
Core Responsibilities
- Set and track organizational goals and guide program and product development.
- Supervise and support key team members.
- Manage budgets and financial performance.
- Implement processes that improve efficiency and service quality.
- Cultivate relationships with partners, donors, and stakeholders.
- Represent the organization in meetings, events, and online forums.
- Review performance data and coordinate cross-functional collaboration.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in organizational leadership, strategic planning, and operational management.
- Proven ability to build and maintain partnerships with educational institutions, employers, community organizations, or similar stakeholders.
- Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, forecasting, and performance monitoring.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, including experience leading remote or distributed teams.
- Capability to design and oversee skills development, career readiness, or workforce development programs.
- Comfort working in a digital-first environment with online collaboration, project management, and data tracking tools.
- Track record of data-informed decisions and continuous improvement.
- Commitment to inclusion, equity, and access to opportunity for diverse populations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Education, Public Administration, or a related field.
- An advanced degree is an advantage.
- Experience in nonprofit management, social enterprise, education, or talent development is highly desirable.
