Reporting to the VP, Payroll & Benefits this position would be responsible for overseeing full cycle payroll & benefits for OEG’s Sports & Entertainment in Canada.
Responsible for and oversee full payroll cycle including processing, posting to the GL, reconciliations, variance analysis, as well as some benefit administration.
Responsible for ensuring payroll functions are delivered consistently and effectively to salaried and hourly staff, across multiple jurisdictions in Canada.
Building, creating, and developing adequate processes, procedures and financial controls within the payroll department and ensure they are functioning, maintained, and monitored to minimize risk and error as well as compliance.
Implementing processes to ensure the accuracy and maintenance of all employee data and payment records. Ensuring data protection measures are in place to safeguard employee information.
Providing leadership, guidance, training, and mentor team members. Foster a positive, engaging and growth-orientated work environment that encourages teamwork, innovation, collaboration, and employee development.
Performs calendar year-end related activities, including updating taxable benefits, producing T4’s.
Responsible for accurate tax payment for all payroll activities which requires a thorough understanding of all compliance regulations for all tax agencies.
Manage year end audit, including month end and year end closing accruals and account reconciliation.
Additional duties as assigned.
