Position Overview
Permanent full-time Manager, Operational Safety opportunity at Vancouver International Airport.
Lead proactive identification, assessment, and mitigation of operational risks while strengthening the airport’s safety culture.
Report to the Director, Operational Excellence and Improvement and work with airlines, regulators, stakeholders, and operational teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership for the airport’s Operational Safety Program, including direction, priorities, and safety initiatives.
- Lead airlines, regulators, contractors, and operational partners to foster a collaborative safety culture.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate operational risks to support safe and resilient operations.
- Use safety data, performance metrics, and industry best practices to improve safety outcomes.
- Lead safety investigations, implement corrective actions, and embed organizational learning.
- Oversee audits, inspections, compliance monitoring, and operational readiness reviews.
- Develop and mentor safety professionals and operational leaders.
Key Qualifications
- Minimum 8 years of progressive leadership experience in an operational or safety-critical aviation environment.
