Manager - Cargo Operations

Main Objective

Key Responsibilities

• Implement strategies, policies, and procedures for safe, efficient, and revenue-optimized cargo operations across aircraft types and operational locations.
• Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures across cargo operations.
• Manage investigations of accidents, incidents, service failures, irregularities, and customer complaints, including corrective and preventive actions.
• Prepare and monitor KPIs and safety performance targets under UAE GCAA standards.
• Oversee daily cargo operations at DXB and DWC with dnata and other ground handling partners.
• Recommend infrastructure, automation, and resource requirements for current and future operations.
• Manage service delivery, SLA compliance, and operational readiness with third-party providers.
• Support cargo product development, system automation, and specialized cargo product launches.
• Maintain cargo documentation in the Ground Handling Manual and manage safety, security, and risk frameworks.
• Liaise with Customs, Health, Police, and other regulators and ensure ground handling contracts include required cargo services.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree and fluency in English are required.
• At least eight years of experience in cargo operations, freight handling, aviation ground operations, or related environments is required.
• Experience managing large operational teams in cargo, aviation, or ground handling environments is required.
• Advanced Cargo and Dangerous Goods courses, DGR qualification, Safety Management Systems certification, aviation security certification, and special cargo products certification are required.
• Cargo EDI and Weight and Balance licenses are desirable.
