The Manager of A5 inpatient surgery provides vision, direction, leadership, support and guidance for the day to day operations on each of the units. This position is responsible for unit-based planning, operational decision-making, resources utilization and staff development within the units.
Baccalaureate Degree in related field required.
Master's Degree in a related Field preferred.
Three to five years related clinical and/or management experience in the health care sector preferred.
CHA Management Program or equivalent would be an asset.
Knowledge of computerized information systems as an asset.
Leadership/Management course an asset.
Excellent analytical and budgeting skills.
Excellent human resources management and leadership skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with administration, directors/managers, staff, physicians, and the community.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to adapt to continually changing priorities.
Excellent knowledge of program planning and evaluation.
Demonstrated ability to achieve goals and objectives within specified time frames.
Demonstrated ability to manage change effectively.
Good computer skills and knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and Internet/E-mail programs and computerized documentation.
Demonstrated conflict resolution and crisis management skills.
Demonstrated commitment to continuing education.
Membership and active participation in a relevant professional association.
Knowledge of collective agreements would be an asset
