Maintenance Supervisor

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Lead installation, commissioning, and handover of new or upgraded kitchen and production equipment.
• Oversee and prioritize the facility maintenance and technician team.
• Develop preventive maintenance schedules across production, refrigeration, HVAC, and facility equipment.
• Respond to breakdowns and coordinate repairs to minimize production downtime.
• Maintain maintenance logs, equipment records, service histories, inspection documentation, and compliance records.
• Own the performance and reliability of refrigeration and HVAC systems.
• Ensure refrigeration and cold-storage systems support cold-chain and food-safety standards.
• Work with Quality on equipment issues affecting food safety or product quality.
• Manage the maintenance budget, asset register, equipment replacement, and capital expenditure planning.
• Manage contractors, vendors, service agreements, SLAs, callout requirements, and response times.
• Lead root-cause investigations and implement long-term engineering or process improvements.
• Ensure systems meet safety and regulatory standards and coordinate maintenance to minimize operational disruption.

Requirements

• 5-6 years of experience in maintenance, engineering, or facilities management within food production, manufacturing, industrial, or a similar environment.
• Strong hands-on experience with industrial equipment maintenance.
• Experience with refrigeration and HVAC systems is strongly preferred.
• Experience leading equipment installation and commissioning projects.
• Previous experience managing or supervising a team of technicians.
• Strong knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance practices.
• Ability to troubleshoot equipment failures and lead root-cause investigations.
• Experience managing external contractors, maintenance vendors, and service agreements.
• Comfortable managing maintenance budgets, assets, and capital replacement planning.
• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, and facility safety requirements.
• Experience in environments where equipment uptime and production continuity are critical.
• Strong organizational, record-keeping, communication, and team-management skills with a proactive approach.
