Overview
Perform aircraft maintenance, preventive maintenance, and alterations on Panasonic Avionics in-flight entertainment systems.
Work includes electronic troubleshooting, testing, component replacement, cabling work, and installed-equipment modifications.
Aircraft, IFE Maintenance and Support
- Perform built-in and manual tests of Panasonic Avionics in-flight entertainment systems.
- Troubleshoot electronic units, cabling, and seat consoles to line-replaceable module level.
- Identify repairs needed to restore functional acceptance.
- Remove and replace defective line-replaceable modules or cabling.
- Operate vehicles on airport property and around aircraft.
- Operate airline communications equipment and interface with customers.
Administration and Documentation
- Document testing and repairs using computer and bar-coding equipment.
- Receive and prepare parts.
- Assist in tracking spare-parts inventory.
- Perform other reasonable related duties assigned by management.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- One to three years of related industry experience is preferred.
- Academic or technical qualifications and experience must satisfy applicable regulatory licensing requirements, including FAA A&P requirements.
- Knowledge of electronics and troubleshooting may come from commercial aviation, military experience, or technical school education.
Knowledge and Skills
- Read and follow instructions, procedures, blueprints, diagrams, manuals, and verbal instructions in English.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is required.
- Work on moderately diverse problems using judgment and initiative, and recommend solutions.
Other Requirements
- Pass extensive security and background checks.
- Travel internationally and domestically to other line stations may be required, up to 25 percent of the time.
- Hold a valid driver's license and meet airport authority access and vehicle-operation requirements.
- Work any shift, including weekends and holidays.
- Climb ladders or platforms and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Work in extreme weather, confined spaces, and varying noise conditions.
