Job Summary
Seeking a mainframe developer with five to six years of hands-on experience developing, maintaining, and supporting enterprise mainframe applications.
The role requires COBOL, DB2, JCL, VSAM, mainframe development lifecycle knowledge, production support, and troubleshooting.
Exposure to IMS DB/DC is highly desirable and considered an added advantage.
Application Development
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical designs and development solutions.
- Develop, enhance, test, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, DB2, JCL, and VSAM.
- Design and develop DB2 SQL queries, stored procedures, and database access modules.
- Create and modify batch jobs, job streams, and utilities using JCL.
- Develop and maintain VSAM files, file processing programs, and data conversion utilities.
Testing and Support
- Perform unit testing, integration testing, and support User Acceptance Testing.
- Investigate and resolve production issues, including performance tuning and root cause analysis.
- Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
