Job description
Develop, support, and enhance Java/J2EE applications, RESTful services, and microservices using Agile software engineering practices.
Work on high-volume, low-latency services and full lifecycle engineering activities for mission-critical systems.
Responsibilities
- Develop, support, and enhance RESTful microservices and application modules.
- Design high-volume, low-latency RESTful microservices for mission-critical systems.
- Enhance Java and RESTful APIs to meet business and auditing requirements.
- Research alternatives and recommend product improvements addressing business and information risk requirements.
- Diagnose service-level issues and underlying system inefficiencies.
- Participate in coding, testing, and release activities.
- Support weekend releases and application issues when required.
- Coordinate activities across multiple projects and onshore/offshore teams.
- Ensure platform availability in lower environments.
Required qualifications
- 5–7 years of Java/J2EE web services development using Spring and Hibernate/ORM.
- Experience with RESTful services or microservices.
- Strong OOAD and design patterns knowledge with hands-on implementation.
- Hands-on Stash or Git experience and knowledge of Oracle or IBM DB2.
- Ability to test and debug advanced code independently using TestNG, JUnit, or Mockito.
- Strong Agile/Scrum understanding, communication, and stakeholder relationship skills.
Desired qualifications
- AWS application development knowledge, including serverless development, RDS, and containerization, is desired.
- AWS experience or certification involving EKS, S3, EC2, Lambda, CloudWatch, or Aurora is an added advantage.
- Experience with US clients, frontend frameworks, BFSI, or API gateway platforms is preferred.
Weekend support
- Weekend release and application issue support may be required.
